DR-CR-PACS

Digital Radiography (DR) is a form of X-ray imaging, where a digital detector or sensor is used instead of film or cassettes. Advantages include time efficiency (throughput) by immediate digital transfering and enhancing of images. Also, less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

Computed Radiography (CR) uses an imaging plate (IP) made of photostimulable phosphor in place of a traditional film to create the image. The imaging plate is housed in a special cassette and placed under the body part or object to be examined and the x-ray exposure is made.
